Creative Health Framework

Curare Studio is a creative health framework that uses arts, culture and participation to support wellbeing, connection and meaningful change.

Drawing from creative health, community engagement, curatorial practice and participatory research, the framework creates spaces where people can encounter themselves, others and their environment in new ways.

Working across healthcare, community and organisational settings, Curare Studio brings together artists, healthcare professionals, educators, researchers and participants within collaborative processes that encourage reflection, dialogue and creative exploration.

Rather than focusing solely on outcomes, the framework values the quality of the experience itself. Through shared creative activity, participants are invited to slow down, reconnect, build relationships and explore new possibilities for living, working and being.

Grounded in care and informed by research, the Curare Studio Framework contributes to the growing field of Creative Health by exploring how creativity can strengthen wellbeing, resilience, belonging and social connection.

The Curare Studio approach to how creativity can support wellbeing, participation, workforce development, social connection and community resilience.

Culture + Public Health + Community Wellbeing + Research = Creative Health Innovation

Curare Studio creates spaces where creativity becomes a catalyst for connection, reflection and change. Through the meeting of arts, culture, health and community, the framework supports more human-centred ways of living, working and belonging, creating conditions for personal and collective transformation.

A Methodology of Becoming

Our work is grounded in the belief that creativity can help us navigate periods of change, uncertainty and transition.

Rather than focusing on artistic outcomes, the process creates conditions for reflection, connection and discovery.

Participants are invited to move beyond habitual ways of thinking and relating, opening space for new perspectives, possibilities and forms of expression.

The process often unfolds through six interconnected stages. Each stage supports a movement from awareness towards action, helping individuals and groups reconnect with what brings meaning, vitality and direction to their lives.

Through creative experiences, people are invited to pause and pay attention. Reflection opens space for new perspectives. Connection strengthens relationships with self, others and place. Participation encourages active engagement and shared ownership. Together, these elements create the conditions for transformation.
